MDFRC Governing Board
The Governing Board is responsible for the overall strategic management and governance of the Centre and the research portfolio of the Centre. The Board comprises an Independent Chair (currently Professor John Langford) and a person representing each of the parties (CSIRO, La Trobe and MDBC).

MDFRC Research Advisory Committee
The Research Advisory Council comprises an Independent Chair (currently Dr John Williams) a representative from each of MDBC's jurisdictions and the MDBC Community Advisory Committee. The role of the RAC is to;
A) review the Centre's progress toward its strategic scientific objectives, and make recommendations to the Governing Board in relation to the Research Portfolio and research priorities of the Centre
B) provide stakeholder input into the research activities of the Centre
C) provide the Governing Board and the Centre Director with advice on emerging issues and knowledge gaps in the field and how these may be addressed by the Centre.
