Head very short and wide with eyes strongly protruding and postocular lobes (PL) very widely rounded; legs long and thin, ratio of length to width of hind femur approximately 12; wing pads raised from the body at an angle of approximately 30o - 40o; abdomen very long and thin; caudal gills denodate, long and slim, petiolate, median gill distinctly arched
