Taschorema complex has been formed to incorporate the five genera, Taschorema, Ethochorema, Tanjilana, Ptychobiosis and Megogata, pending further study of the larval morphology. To date it has proved difficult to find characters that will consistently separate all species in a generic key. |
Descriptive Features: head capsule ranging from narrow to moderately broad
prosternum with large medial sclerite
foreleg with femur not broadened, ventroapical angle extended to form a chela, length at least 2X width, combined length of tibia and tarsus about ½ femur length
fore trochanter without stout apical spine, usually not reaching middle of ventral margin of femur
abdominal proleg without ventral spine or seta at base of lateral sclerite, but with a long seta at about midlength on ventral margin, anal claw without basal spine
