Summary

Under the Integrated monitoring for Environmental Flows (IMEF) Program, the NSW Department of Water and Energy (DWE) has collected samples from the Namoi and Gwydir rivers over three field seasons. These samples were collected to examine relationships between river flows and fish recruitment. The samples collected have also been found to contain large numbers of freshwater shrimp.  DWE is seeking to have these shrimp samples processed, the data entered and analysed and for conceptual  models and/or hypotheses on the relationship between river flows and shrimp populations to be developed.
