Funding Body

eWater CRC

Duration

completed December 2005

Outcomes

Four Fact Sheets have been prepared (April 2006):

  1. Productivity of slackwaters and flowing habitats
  2. Slackwaters & microfauna
  3. Macroinvertebrates, and
  4. Fish & Shrimp

Summary

The MDFRC was involved in a CRCFE project examining the response of biota and ecological processes to meso-habitat scale variations in the hydraulic environment, and was undertaken in three different rivers.

The objective of this project was to distil and synthesise the information gathered by this project i.e. a synthesis of the hydrological and ecological information and an evaluation of the environmental consequences of a range of management interventions, so that it could be taken up by eWater products.
