Summary

Lake Hume is a two-phase study.

Phase 1 was a literature review on water quality issues relevant to Lake Hume, the synthesis and interpretation of available data sets, and a written report.

Phase 2 was a socio-economic analysis of various management interventions (in conjunction with La Trobe University).  The primary functions of this work were to:

  • Establish and explore the range of social relationships between the resources of Lake Hume and the communities that interact with them.
  • Articulate the social ramifications of altering these relationships.
  • Catalogue the economic relationships inherent in the management status quo.
  • Enumerate the economic implications of altered resource management.
