Funding Body

eWater CRC

Duration

completed December 2005

Outcomes

Six factsheets have been produced

  1. Aquatic Plants
  2. Aquatic Invertebrates
  3. What is salinity and how is it measured?
  4. Living on the edge: wetland plants and salinity
  5. Biological responses to salinity: do wetlands differ?
  6. Accumulation of salts in wetland sediments

Summary

The MDFRC was involved in a CRCFE project The Effects of Increasing Salinity on Ecosystem Function, Resilience and Diversity.  This follow-on project produced a series of six Fact Sheets on Wetland Salinity: Predicting the ecological consequences.
