Summary

This is a collaborative project with the Freshwater Ecology group at the Arthur Rylah Institute for Environmental Research (part of DSE, Victoria), to operate out of the Lower Basin Laboratory in Mildura.

This project represents a step toward development of a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plan for the Living Murray initiative.  It will develop a framework for one component of the monitoring plan, specifically, the intervention based monitoring.  The specific objectives for the intervention based monitoring program are:

  1. Improved management of interventions to meet asset ecological objectives,
  2. Improved understanding of the causal links between interventions and changes in ecological condition at the asset and system scale, and
  3. To underpin an adaptive management approach to the Living Murray First Step.
