2002-2005 Murray and Mitta Mitta River Samples Processing and analysis of artificial substrate samples,sweep net samples and riffle kick samples collected from the Murray River and Mitta Mitta River 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 by another agency. Data is to be assessed using a range of biotic indices.

Acidification of Murray river wetlands Thirty wetlands along the Murray River from Lake Hume to the South Australian border have been sampled to assess their potential for producing acidic events.

Assessment of Tuppal and Bullatale Creeks MDFRC are sub-consultants to SKM. The project will investigate and assess the potential ecological outcomes resulting from proposed management changes and if these changes meet the management objectives of the Barmah-Millewa environmental management plan.

Barmah monitoring program The purpose of the project is to develop a comprehensive and flexible environmental monitoring program for Barmah Wetland.

Community Engagement in Institutional Monitoring To develop a handbook of methods for monitoring the ecological condition of aquatic and riparian systems for use by landholders and community groups.

Drought monitoring To describe the effects of drought on aquatic communities of the Broken, Ovens, King, Kiewa and Murray Rivers and identify potential survival strategies.

Guidelines for managing salinity The MDFRC was involved in a CRCFE project The Effects of Increasing Salinity on Ecosystem Function, Resilience and Diversity. This follow-on project produced a series of six Fact Sheets on Wetland Salinity: Predicting the ecological consequences.

Gunbower Forest monitoring program The key aims of this project were to develop an appropriate and repeatable sampling methodology for monitoring the fish fauna of Gunbower Island, to undertake sampling in accordance with this methodology, and then to report on collected data and the sampling program.

Lake Mulwala study Part 1 results of a literature study and revaluation of data Part 2 identifies critical knowledge gaps and proposed sampling program. Part 3 results of the sampling program. Part 4 an on-going monitoring framework for the Lake.

Living Murray intervention assessment framework This project represents a step toward development of a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plan for the Living Murray initiative. It will develop a framework for one component of the monitoring plan, specifically, the intervention based monitoring.

Lower Murray River Monitoring The Lower Murray River Monitoring project is a part of the long-term Biological Monitoring Program funded by the MDBC. MDFRC have been working on two Upper Murray sites since 1980 so the addition of three Lower Murray sites sees an extension of MDFRC's involvement in the collection of this long-term data set.
