Summary

An environmental water allocation has been delivered to some of the Hattah Lakes through pumping. This delivery mechanism has the potential to influence the development of the aquatic system as compared to natural flooding. MDFRC is collaborating with the EPA to monitor the effects of this pumped water on the ecology of the Hattah Lakes. Water quality, aquatic vegetation, River Red Gums and fish communities are being monitored by MDFRC as part of this Intervention Monitoring project.
