MDFRC supports a team of zooplankton ecologists who work in conjunction with scientists and technicians from multiple freshwater disciplines, to deliver high quality scientific research and synthesis.
These include:
- Zooplankton community and structure assessments
- Taxonomic identification to genus
- Assessment of zooplankton and their ecology
- Pond and mesocosm experiments and/or manipulative field trials
- Scientifically analyse data and deliver comprehensive reviews and reports, including reviews and recommendations for management actions
- Surveys and monitoring
- Mentoring and supervising university students
The team also has an interest in:
- The water requirements of zooplankton communities in wetland, riparian and floodplain communities
- Impacts of salinity on emergence of egg banks
- Resting stages of zooplankton assemblages
- Environmental requirements of zooplankton communities
