meso- and metanotum broad, giving larva a triangular shape in dorsal view
abdominal gills branched and simple, present on segments 1-5
tergite 9 consists of 2 pigmented sclerites

Case: broad, flattened anteriorly, constructed of thick secretion, dark reddish brown to black in colour |
